A short course that gives a clear & comprehensive introduction to teaching English as a foreign or second language.

The course is ideal for those starting out in the profession & in need of a very practical journey through the main areas.

The course is also suitable for those wishing to see if teaching English would suit them, as well as being an ideal way of preparing for a Certificate course.

Each course is one-to-one, the central focus being the Forum where the trainee & the tutor interact. Answers to tasks, questions & further tasks are set in the Forum.

Course Outline

1. Starting Out
A brief look at your past learning experiences & the area of study skills.

2. The Learner
Learning conditions & situations, types of learners & classroom problems.

3. The Teacher
Managing the classroom, the students & oneself.

4. The Language
An overview of the grammar, function & vocabulary, as well as providing you with the analysis tools of the trade.

5. The Skills
The four skills - Listening Speaking, Reading & Writing, comprehension & production, & classroom activities.

6. The Planning
From an introduction to syllabus to timetabling to lesson planning.

7. The Materials & Teaching Aids
Using the coursebook, supplementary materials, & common aids used in the classroom.



























The fees
Each course has a three-month limit, from beginning to end. There are no time limits set on the completion of each module within the three months.

On receipt of payment of the fees, a password is sent, giving access to the course.

The fees are payable though PayPal, a very secure online payment system. An account can be created to make payment or a simple credit card payment can be made. If it is not possible to use PayPal in your country of residence, we can supply details for a bank transfer.
